Youth Sports And Activities Fair

Saturday, January 22 from 10am-2pm at the Wenatchee Convention Center

(Wenatchee, WA)…Anyone with a child interested in doing something more than schoolwork should bring them to the Wenatchee Convention Center this weekend for the Wenatchee Valley Youth Sports and Activities Fair.

Caryl Andre is the President of the Wenatchee Valley Sports Foundation.  “It used to be just the Sports Fair and we incorporated Activities also so we can cover all aspects of things for kids.  So we wanted to make it a one-stop-shop for parents and kids to come down and learn about everything.  If they want to do karate, or they want to do dance, or they want to do drama.  We have a tutoring gal there for schoolwork.  We have a little bit of everything to access there for parents.

Andre says there will be things inside the Wenatchee Convention Center, as well as outside.  “Its incorporated into our Bundle Up Festival, which is going to be just outside the back of the Convention Center.  So the kids can do activities right outside.  Come in.  Look around.  Have fun.  Jump in an inflatable.  We have s’mores and hay wagon rides.  We have a petting zoo with a baby donkey!   It’s just going to be really cool!”

The Youth Sports and Activities Fair runs 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is in conjunction with the Bundle Up Run and Festival, featuring a 5-K Run and Walk and 1-K Kids Run.  Registration for the run/walk is in the Convention Center parking lot and begins at Noon.

Andre says parents should really come check out some of the participating organizations.  “Wenatchee Youth Baseball; Wenatchee Football; Wenatchee FC Soccer; the YMCA; the WRAC; Eastmont Parks; and Wenatchee Parks and Recreation…so its a broad range of activities for kids.”

The Wenatchee Valley Youth Sports and Activities Fair is FREE and will be Saturday at the Wenatchee Convention Center beginning at 10 o’clock.
