WVC Men’s winning streak ends at 10 games

WVC Knights have winning streak snapped

For only the second time this season, the Wenatchee Valley men’s basketball team lost a game. The North Idaho Cardinals knocked off the Knights 89-71 last night in Coeur d’Alene. Austin Hatch led WVC with 14-points.

WVC falls to North Idaho 66-63

The Lady Knights also fell at North Idaho last night with the Cardinal’s Alex Carlton hitting a 3-pointer with 7-seconds remaining to lift the home squad to a 66-63 victory. Cariann Kunkel led WVC in scoring with 17-points.

Men's College Basketball Schedule

Coming up on the men’s college schedule tonight, #8 Oregon plays at Washington State at 6 on the Pac-12 Network. Central Washington hosts Alaska Anchorage at 7:30. Eastern Washington is at Idaho at 7:30. Washington hosts Oregon State at 8. Also at 8, #1 Gonzaga hosts Santa Clara in the Kennel on ESPN2.

On the hardwoods for the women tonight, it’s Central Washington hosting Western Washington at 5:15. Eastern Washington plays at Idaho at 5:30. And #16 Gonzaga plays at Santa Clara at 7 o’clock.

A double dual that was schedule for Cashmere, Omak and Okanogan at Chelan last night had to be postponed due to weather. We don’t have a makeup date for that yet.

Coming up tonight, Ephrata hosts Grandview at 6. Ephrata is also the site for matches between Quincy, Prosser and Grandview at 6 o’clock. Eastmont travels to Davis at 7. And the Wenatchee Panthers host the Moses Lake Chiefs tonight at 7. Eric Granstrom will be mat side for the play-by-play on the NCWLIFE Channel. We’ll air it after hockey at 9 o’clock.

Then coming up this weekend, Wenatchee begins a four-game home stand tomorrow night with the Cowichan Valley Capitals in town. It’s Boy Scouts Night tomorrow night at 7:05.

Then on Saturday, it’s Military Appreciate Night with themed-jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game is over. The Surrey Eagles are in for that game with the puck dropping at 7:05.
