With tourism season bearing down, Chelan’s renovation work on the Woodin Avenue Bridge will reach a key milestone Wednesday with an all-day paving project. That will mean significant traffic disruptions for much of the day, with the city hoping the asphalt will be cooled enough to drive on by five o’clock Wednesday evening. It will also mean the closure of the intersection of Woodin and Columbia Street.
Work on the almost-four million dollar bridge project, which includes the new Woodin Avenue Landing Park, began last fall and was expected to be completed this month. It will turn the bridge into a one-way, with widened sidewalks, a bike lane and enhanced streetscapes.
