Wild Receive Morning Sendoff to Chilliwack
WENATCHEE, WA – The Wenatchee Wild are officially in Chilliwack, B.C. for the next week-plus to participate in the Junior Canadian National Championship, otherwise known as the RBC Cup…
Here’s their schedule, starting tomorrow night against the host team at 7 o’clock. Then they’ll face the Steinbach Piston Sunday at 2. After a day off Monday, it’s a 2 o’clock game versus the Ottawa Junior Senators Tuesday. Then another day off Wednesday and a final, round-robin game against the Wellington Dukes next Thursday at 2. The semi-finals are a week from tomorrow and, hopefully, the Wild will play for the RBC Cup a week from Sunday…all in Chilliwack, B.C. Go Wild!
Bridgeport District Soccer Champs, Okanogan Wins
Let’s get to the Les Schwab Prep Scoreboard from yesterday…
First, in the Caribou Trail League District Baseball Tournament, Okanogan ended Cascade’s season 5-to-1. And in the CTL/CWB District Soccer Championship last night in the Apple Bowl, Bridgeport beat Brewster 3-to-1.
Eastmont and Wenatchee Baseball Teams at District
Turning to the weekend prep schedule, first in baseball…
The Big 9 District Tournament resumes today with Eastmont playing at West Valley at 5 o’clock. The winner will face Wenatchee tomorrow at 1 in Moses Lake. That winner of THAT game will face the Chiefs for the District Championship.
The CTL Tournament continues in Ephrata with Cashmere and Chelan playing for the District Title at 5pm. The loser of that game will take on Okanogan in a loser-out game at 7.
And in the District 5/6 2B Tournament tomorrow at Rec. Park, Brewster faces Tri-Cities Prep for the Championship at 4 o’clock.
Eastmont Softball Wraps Season at Moses Lake
In prep softball this weekend…
Eastmont plays a doubleheader at Moses Lake today at 4 o’clock as both teams wrap up the regular season. Tomorrow, Cascade hosts the Caribou Trail League 1A District Tournament in Peshastin as the Kodiaks face Okanogan in the first game at 11. That will be followed by Omak and Chelan at 1:30. The winner of those two games will play for the District Championship at 4pm.
District Tournaments for Tennis in CTL and Big 9
And District Tennis is on tap for tomorrow…
The Big 9 boys and girls district tournament is at West Valley beginning Saturday morning at 9am. The Caribou Trail League resumes in Chelan tomorrow morning at 10.
Thunder Ready for Sweet 16 of Lacrosse State Tourney
The Wenatchee Valley Thunder are in the Sweet 16 of the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association State 4A Tournament tomorrow…
They’ll host Issaquah tomorrow night in the Apple Bowl. The game time was changed to avoid sun glare on the field, so it will face off at 8pm rather than 7pm. We’ll have it LIVE for you on the NCWLIFE Channel with Eric Granstrom and Rod Higley on the play-by-play.
Wild’s Doyle Cup Clinching Game 5 Tonight on NCWLIFE
Speaking of what’s coming up on the NCWLIFE Channel…
Tune in tonight for the Doyle-Cup-Clinching Game 5 with the Wenatchee Wild at Spruce Grove. It’s on at 7. We’ll re-run Eastmont’s District Soccer Championship game versus Davis tomorrow afternoon at 2. That will be followed at 8 by Wenatchee playoff lacrosse.

Bulls, Horses, Softball and Rugby Highlight Weekend
The G-S Long Hell on Hooves bull riding event is happening at the Town Toyota Center tonight and tomorrow at 7:30.
Senior Softball will be on the menu at Walla Walla Point Park with a tournament tomorrow and Saturday.
Appleatchee will be buzzing this weekend with the Reining Horse Association’s Northwest Slide-In. That runs today through Sunday.
And Mother’s of Pre-Schoolers is hosting a Run for Your Mother at Pybus Market tomorrow morning at 8:30. This is a 5k Fun Run/Walk.
Seager’s Grand Slam Home Run Highlights Seattle Win
The Mariners brought their hitting shoes to the ballpark in Toronto last night as Kyle Seager hit a grand slam home run and Seattle downed the Blue Jays 9-to-3…
Seager went 2-for-5 in the game with 5-RBI’s as Seattle collected 17-hits. Jean Segura went 4-for-6 in the leadoff spot with 2-Runs. Mike Leake worked 7-innings on the mound, allowing 2-runs on 6-hits while striking out 6 to earn his 4th win. The Mariners begin a three game weekend series at Detroit today at 4:10 with Marco Gonzalez facing Matthew Boyd.
