Wenatchee Wild down Penticton to finish strong

PENTICTON, B.C. – Wenatchee finished the regular season last night with a 3-1 win over Penticton at the South Okanagan Events Centre…

After a scoreless first period, Brian Adams got the offense going in the 9th minute with his 11th goal of the season. The Wild pushed the lead to 2-0 with a goal at the 11:52 mark of the second period.

The Vees cut the lead in half on Ryan Sandelin’s redirection of a shot a minute, 7-seconds into the 3rd period.  The two teams would battle it out from there with Austin Park shutting the door in net and Josh Arnold getting an empty-netter for the final score of 3-1.

Wenatchee finishes the regular season with a 32-20-2-and-4 record. The 70-points are good enough for third in the BCHL’s Interior Division. Penticton and Merritt are tied for the division lead with both teams having two games to go.

The Wild will start the first round of the playoffs at home a week from Saturday.
