Wild Fall in Semifinals, Local Teams Advance to State

Wild Drop 2-1 Decision in Semifinals

WENATCHEE, WA – Wenatchee stood on the precipice of being the first American team to ever win the RBC Cup last weekend. The task Saturday was to beat the same team the Wild whipped up on Thursday 7-to-1, the Wellington Dukes. A win would put Wenatchee in Sunday’s championship. But the Dukes would have something else to say about that. To the Prospera Centre we go for the highlights with Bonny Dibartalo and Tyler Gara on the call, video courtesy of HockeyTV…

There are a lot of unhappy Wild fans, especially with the no-goal call in the 3rd period. But for a goal to be counted, the puck has to COMPLETELY cross the line and in the replay, it does not completely cross the line. Wellington would go on to play Chilliwack for the RBC Cup Championship Sunday…
And it would be the host, Chiefs, to hoist the RBC Cup after Chilliwack beat the Dukes yesterday 4-2.

By the way, Wild fans are invited to attend a rally for the team tonight at 6 at the Town Toyota Center. They’ll have the Fred Page Cup and Doyle Cup on display and fans will have one more chance to thank the team for an incredibly historic season.
