Wild Heads to Vernon with Series Tied 2-2

WENATCHEE, WA – The Wenatchee Wild have come back to tie its 2nd round BCHL playoff series with Vernon at 2-games apiece after a 7-1 victory Wednesday night. Josh Arnold and Sam Morton both lit the lamp twice as Wenatchee had a sizeable lead heading into the final frame. That’s when the Vipers got pretty chippie. Wenatchee now heads to Vernon for Game 5 tomorrow night at 7 o’clock…as we look at the Les Schwab Scoreboard…
No matter what happens tomorrow, there will be a Game 6 Saturday night at 7 at the Town Toyota Center. We’ll try to hook up with Ecker via Skype tomorrow here on Wake Up Wenatchee Valley.

Sweet 16 has Gonzaga Facing Florida State Tonight

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are back at it in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament…
They’re in Los Angeles tonight at 6:59pm (to be exact) to face Florida State on TBS. The Zag’s game will be the final of the four being played today. Loyola Chicago faces Nevada at 4:07 on CBS. Texas A&M and Michigan are on TBS at 4:27. Then it’s Kansas State and Kentucky at 6:37 on CBS. The other four games will be played tomorrow.

Prep Soccer, Softball, Golf & Tennis Take Center Stage

Let’s take a look at the Prep Schedule for today…
First, in boys soccer, Cascade hosts Okanogan at 4:30. Omak is at Cashmere at 4:30. And Manson travels to Brewster, also at 4:30.

Just a couple softball games on the schedule for today…
Cascade plays host to Cle Elum beginning at 4pm while Brewster’s at Cashmere at 4:30.

Finally on the prep schedule today…
The Wenatchee boys and girls golf teams are up in Chelan today with a 2:30 tee time.
In Tennis, Wenatchee hosts Eisenhower at 3pm. Eastmont’s on the road at Davis at 3pm. And, Tonasket plays host to Entiat, beginning at 4pm.

Zunino Smacks Three Home Runs in Mariners Win

Finally in sports, what a day for Seattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino…
He went 4-for-4 at the plate in Seattle’s game in Peoria against Milwaukee with 3-home runs and 5 runs batted in! The one man wrecking crew helped the Mariners to a 7-4 victory. Mike Leake was the beneficiary on the mound, allowing 4-runs on 10-hits in 6-innings to earn the victory. Seattle hosts Texas in Peoria today as Marco Gonzalez takes the ball. First pitch is at 6:40. We are a week away from Seattle’s home opener against Cleveland at Safeco Field.
