Warriors down Wild 5-1 in Game 2
The Wild couldn’t hold up in Game 2 Sunday, falling by a score of 5-1. Arch Ecker provided the summary on the Wenatchee Wild’s home page.
“The Wenatchee Wild fourteen game postseason home win streak came to an end on Sunday as the West Kelowna Warriors handed the Wild a 5-1 defeat to even their best-of-seven playoff series at a game apiece.”
“The Wild had a great scoring chance in the opening minute but it was the Warriors who took the 1-0 lead. West Kelowna lofted the puck from deep in their own zone after a mad scramble in the crease that sprung Cavin Tilsley on a breakaway that he buried at the 0:56 mark. Lucas Cullen doubled the lead for West Kelowna at 15:59 and it was 2-0 after 1.”
“The second period saw the Warriors convert a pair of Wild miscues into goals, both scored by Chase Dubois for a 4-0 Warrior lead after two periods. Wenatchee got a spark on Blake Bargar’s third goal of the series at 6:51 of the third, but a flukish bounce in the Wild zone found its way off a leg and into the back of the net for a 5-1 final margin, the goal credited to Lucas Cullen. Wenatchee outshot West Kelowna 33-23.”
“The series, tied at a game apiece now shifts to Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna for Games 3, 4, and 5 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Game time each night is set for 7:00 pm. If Games 6 and 7 are required, they will be played on Sunday at 8:05 pm and Monday at 7:05 pm at Town Toyota Center.”
