Wenatchee Valley COVID-19 deaths rise to 47


EAST WENATCHEE — Three more deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Chelan County this week raise the Wenatchee Valley’s total number of those lost to the virus to 47, the Chelan-Douglas Health District reported Friday.

All three were male Chelan County residents, one in his 50s, one in his 80s and one in his 90s.

Of the 47 known mortalities, 38 people were residents of Chelan County and 9 of Douglas County. As of this week 8,476 people in the two counties have tested positive for the novel coronavirus since testing became available.

Health officials continue to urge social distancing, hand-washing and the use of a facial mask when in public, to help prevent the spread of the disease.
