Panthers Use Late Runs to Down Eastmont

EAST WENATCHEE, WA – Let’s start things where we left off on Wednesday, with Wenatchee hosting Eastmont in Big 9 Bowling at Eastmont Lanes…
In a back and forth first couple games, Wenatchee literally struck late to overtake the Wildcats and win 846-805 and then 838-772. Eastmont took the first Baker 179-143 but then the Panthers won the second 226-160.

Paul Paiva and I had the call on the broadcast, which will air a week from tomorrow on the NCWLIFE Channel…


Wenatchee improved to 3-and-1 in Big 9 play with the win while Eastmont fell to 2-and-2. The two teams will meet again January 2nd.

It’s Finally Here!  The 111th Apple Cup Kicks Off Today

Of course, all eyes are on Pullman today for the 111th Apple Cup game between Washington and Washington State…
The Cougars are ranked 7th in the latest AP poll, 8th in the college football playoff poll. Washington moved up in all the polls this week to #16. The game will kick off at 5:30 at Martin Stadium, where the forecast is for lots of rain and breezy conditions with winds gusting to 20 at kickoff and temperatures around kickoff at 34 degrees.

The State 1B Semifinals kick off with Almira-Coulee-Hartline taking on Naselle at 1 o’clock at Lee Bofto Field. That will be followed by Quilcene and Odessa at 4 o’clock.

And the Wenatchee Wild are home for the next two nights at the Town Toyota Center…

Seahawks Hoping to Travel Well to Carolina Sunday

Finally, the Seahawks are on the road at Carolina Sunday…
Seattle is 5-and-5 and in a must-win scenario for the rest of the season. The Panthers are 6-and-4, trailing the 10-1 New Orleans Saints in the NFC South.

Wide Receiver Tyler Lockett is having a career season with the Seahawks. He has 38-receptions for 554-yards and 7-touchdowns. New offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer says Lockett has the ability to go up and get those 50/50 balls…


Schottenheimer says he almost sees Lockett as an on-field coach because of his ability to see the game…
