Wenatchee superintendent’s statement on rumored threat at high school today

By Dr. Paul Gordon
Wenatchee School District superintendent

WSD families and staff,

In an effort to keep you informed of safety concerns happening across our district, today we received reports of a rumored threat at Wenatchee High School. The possible threat only applied to Wenatchee High School and at no time were any students or staff in danger. However, out of an abundance of caution, district administrators decided it was in the best interest of students and staff to transition to remote learning today and cancel all student after-school activities and athletics.

Weekend events and activities happening at Wenatchee High School will resume as planned. It is our intention that Wenatchee High School will resume in-person instruction on Monday, December 6th.   We are continuing to work closely with our school resource officers and the Wenatchee Police Department to investigate reported safety concerns. Below you will find a copy of the most recent press release from Wenatchee PD regarding today’s events.   The safety of our students and staff is of paramount importance to us. We will continue working in partnership with law enforcement to maintain safe learning environments in our schools.
