Wenatchee Girls 2-1 After Shut Out of Grizzlies

WENATCHEE, WA – Wenatchee hosted Sunnyside in Big 9 soccer last night at Lee Bofto Field at the Apple Bowl and came away with the victory…
Jaden Griggs and Madysen Smith found the net in the first half while Amanda Schneider capped the lopsided match with a goal in the second half of Wenatchee’s 3-nil win. And it could have been worse. To the highlights we go with Sebastian Moraga and Matt Wisen calling the action on the NCWLIFE Channel…

The Panthers improved to 3-and-1 on the season, 1-and-oh in Big 9 play with the victory.
Eastmont went on the road and earned a hard-fought, 1-nil win at West Valley. It was the Wildcats first win of the season versus two losses. We’ll feature Eastmont’s home match against Eisenhower tomorrow night here on the NCWLIFE Channel.

Also last night, it was Cashmere doubling up on Ephrata 4-2 and Selah blanked Cascade 1-nil. The Kodiaks are unbelievably 0-3-1 on the season so far.

Mariners Again Lack Offense in 2-1 Loss to San Diego

Will Myer’s RBI-double off Edwin Diaz in the top of the 9th gave San Diego a 2-1 win over the Mariners last night at Safeco Field…
Seattle again struggled with the bats and getting any kind of key hits as they got runners on second and third with no outs in the 7th and couldn’t score. And again loaded the bases in the 8th with no runs. Robinson Cano provided the lone offense with his 8th home run of the season in the 3rd.

Manager Scott Servais said the offensive woes continues for his ball club…

In three games against the Padres this season, Seattle is oh-and-3; has been outscored 12-to-5; and is a combined 5-for-22 with runners in scoring position in those three losses.
Marco Gonzales made his return from the disabled list, going 5-innings and allowing 1-run on 4-hits with 2 strikeouts.

The Mariners and Padres wrap up their season-series with a 3:40 start time today at Safeco Field as Wade LeBlanc faces Joey Lucchesi (loo-KEH-see).

Houston and Oakland Continue Winning Ways

While the Mariners were losing, Oakland and Houston were winning AGAIN as we turn to the Les Schwab Scoreboard…
Mike Fiers improved to 5-and-oh with Oakland, allowing just one run over six innings while striking out seven to lead the A’s past Baltimore 3-2. Oakland is a staggering 33-and-15 since the All Star Break.

Jose Altuve led the game off with a home run and Houston’s Tony Kemp and Tyler White added two run shots as the Astros held off the Tigers 5-4 in Detroit. Houston’s lead in the West remains 3-games while Seattle continues to fade in the Wild Card race, now trailing Oakland by 8-and-a-half games. In fact, Oakland’s win combined with New York’s 10-5 loss to Minnesota, puts the A’s just 2-games back of the Yankees for the 1st Wild Card spot and possible home field in a one-game playoff.

Eight Angel relievers took a no-hitter into the 8th and combined on a one-hit shutout of the Rangers 1-nothing in Anaheim.

Seahawks Missed Chances, Will Miss Baldwin

Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll met with reporters yesterday and was less-than-positive after reviewing Sunday’s 27-24 loss at Denver. He said Seattle needs to play better on all phases, and finish…

Carroll said it looks like the Hawks will have to play for at least two weeks without the services of Doug Baldwin due to a knee injury…

The Seahawks will be in Chicago to take on the Bears on Monday Night Football.
