The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center in Wenatchee has been closed since March 9t, the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak.
But the center took its first step toward a return to normalcy today with the reopening of the center’s thrift store.
Dave Tosh, executive director of the center, said they’re taking great care to protect the older people who work and volunteer at the store.
“You’re going to notice a few changes,” Tosh said. “We’re going to expand it into some other areas that we haven’t used before because the space is idle.”
The rest of the senior center will remain closed for the time being, he said.
People going into the store will be asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
“We will have one entryway, we’ll have one exitway and the donations that used to come in through the main entryway will now be received on the side of the building,” Tosh said.
