The accolades keep coming for Alfonso Lopez, Lewis and Clark Elementary School principal.
The latest came this week when he was honored in Washington, D.C. as part of the National Distinguished Principal of the Year program.
Lopez this year was named Washington state’s principal of the year.
He joined principals from the other 49 states and two countries for the event.
Lopez later met with U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and briefly discussed his Wenatchee school’s dual language program.
He took the opportunity to invited DeVos to visit Lewis and Clark Elementary the next time she’s in Washington state.
