Wenatchee school leaders get COVID-19 update from Confluence physicians

WENATCHEE — Wednesday’s meeting of the Wenatchee School Board doubled as a community update from Confluence Health, on where the region now stands in the COVID-19 pandemic. An average of 49 people per day in Chelan and Douglas County are testing positive for the virus, and hospitalizations in Wenatchee are up.

Confluence Health operates Wenatchee Valley’s Central Washington Hospital and Clinics. Infectious disease specialist Dr. Mark Johnson and Confluence CEO Dr. Peter Rutherford addressed the board.
