Wenatchee school bus drivers praised for assisting during medical emergency

The Wenatchee School District is praising three of its bus drivers for the efforts they made last month in assisting a citizen who was having a medical issue.

The district said Maribel Davidson, Tommy Bishop, and Doug Russell were returning from their routes when they saw a person collapse on the sidewalk while walking their dog.

All three immediately stopped, called 911 and used their first-aid training, the district said.

They then stayed on the scene until EMTs arrived and made sure the dog made it home safely.

The citizen has since recovered and sent a note to district Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon that said, in part, “My heart was touched by these heroes who gave me such comfort and support.”
