Wenatchee police arrest man who complained about being featured on social media

A Wenatchee man who did not take kindly to police publicizing last week that they were looking for him was taken into custody today.

David Ernesto Lopez was arrested on several outstanding warrants in a trailer outside a Wenatchee home this afternoon, said Capt. Edgar Reinfeld of the Wenatchee Police Department.

“I think our guys figured out where to be watching for him and he must have stepped outside,” Reinfeld said.

The department posted a photo of Lopez on its Facebook and Instagram pages last Thursday, asking for the public’s help locating him.

Lopez responded with a series of posts on the Wenatchee Police Department’s Facebook page, telling police to focus on real criminals and calling police “suckas.”

Lopez was wanted on warrants for second-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment, first-degree negligent driving, obstructing a public servant, driving with a suspended license and violation of a domestic violence no-contact order, the police department said.

Reinfeld said Lopez is now being booked into the Chelan County Jail.
