The Sheriff shared in a prepared statement the investigation revealed Hurd failed to obtain necessary medical treatment for her son for a broken arm and blunt force trauma to his head, which resulted in the boy’s death.

The boy was treated for a head injury after having a seizure at Hurd’s former boyfriends house in June of last year in the East Wenatchee area. He died at Harborview Hospital in August. The mother’s boyfriend was a suspect at first but was later released. Hurd was booked into Chelan County Regional Jail without incident.
