Wenatchee city council considers waterfront parking garage

WENATCHEE- A new two-story parking garage is in the plans for Wenatchee’s fast growing waterfront. NCWLIFE’s Steve Hair reports:

Mayor Frank Kuntz says the City Council is set to act on a proposed public/private partnership to develop the existing parking lot on Riverside Drive across from the Pybus Market. The Mayor says funding is in place to cover the project.

The City retains a percentage of the sales tax revenue generated from new development on the riverfront. The City Council is expected to approve the plan and authorize the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Prime Properties, LLC, establishing the framework for a public private partnership.

The Mayor says, with a new hotel going in and additional ongoing commercial development, having sufficient parking space is a priority. The Council meeting starts at 5:15 at City Hall.
