Wenatchee Boys Down Moses Lake with Defense

Panthers split with ML. Eastmont Falls to Davis. Cashmere Beats Okanogan.

WENATCHEE, WA – Wenatchee used a stifling defense and a good combination of outside shooting by Cass Riggan and inside presence by Darius Carlson to build a big halftime lead and go on for a 56-42 victory over Moses Lake.

Darius Carlson finished with a game-high 19 points while Cass Riggan finished with 11 as Wenatchee improved to 3-2 in Big Nine play with the win, 5-8 overall.  Moses Lake was led by the 12 points of Evan McLean, falling to 3-2 it league play and 8-5 overall.

Also Friday, Eastmont Loses While Cashmere Wins

Also Friday in Boys Basketball, Eastmont’s losing streak reached 7 with a 76-62 loss to Davis. Cashmere is unbeaten in the new year after downing Okanogan 60-57.

Moses Lake Cruises Past Wenatchee In Girls Play

In Girls Basketball Friday, Wenatchee hosted the undefeated and 3rd-ranked Moses Lake Chiefs LIVE on the NCWLIFE Channel Friday. The Panthers used a feisty second quarter to shave was once a 13-point Moses Lake lead to 6 by halftime. But in the second half, the Chiefs held Wenatchee to just ONE field goal, outscoring the Panthers 34-to-8 to go on for the 57-25 win. Alli Hallberg was held to just 8-points for Wenatchee, all from the free throw line.  Also Friday, Davis beat Eastmont 51-41 and Cashmere held Okanogan to 19 total points as Hailey Van Lith scored a game-high 28 as Cashmere won 68-19.

Panthers Make It Three Straight Wins Saturday

Turning to Saturday in Boys Basketball, Wenatchee made it a 3-game sweep of the week with its 62-51 win over Eisenhower. Despite Isaac Wellborn’s 28-points, Eastmont fell to Sunnyside 82-71. Brewster beat Chelan 64-42. Cascade topped Cle Elum by 13. Bridgeport bested Manson by 6 and Waterville-Mansfield made it a sweep of Liberty Bell with a 60-33 win.

Waterville-Mansfield Celebrates Homecoming With Overtime Win

In Girls Basketball Saturday, Sunnyside stopped Eastmont 58-45. Wenatchee got a big night from Alli Hallberg (20pts, 13 rebounds) as the Panthers eased past Eisenhower 67-36. Brewster beat Chelan 58-36. Cle Elum clobbered Cascade 70-27. Manson won by eight over Bridgeport and Waterville-Mansfield celebrated homecoming with a 51-50 overtime win over Liberty Bell.
