Panthers Top Davis at Wenatchee Friday Night

WENATCHEE, WA – The Wenatchee boys basketball team erased an 8-point first half deficit and outscored Davis 24-15 in the fourth quarter to earn a 63-60 victory Friday. The Panthers had four players score in double figures, led by Garrett Long with 15, JJ Jelsing with 13, Evan Smith with 12 and Darius Carlson with 11.

West Valley defended its home floor with a 60-38 win over Eastmont. Chelan got 23-points from Connor Wilson in a 69-60 non-conference win over Brewster, the first time the Goats have defeated the Bears since 2011.

Omak had no trouble with Cascade 72-27 and Liberty Bell edged Manson 47-46.

In the opener Friday, the Davis girls grabbed an early lead and never relinquished it in a 57-44 victory. Wenatchee Wins 9th Straight with OT Victory Friday

The Wenatchee Wild hosted Salmon Arm Friday during Teddy Bear Toss night at the Town Toyota Center. Not only did the fans gathered get a chance to toss their stuffed animals in the first period, they also went home happy with the Wild pulling off the 4-3 overtime victory…

The Wild got goals from Koch, Stratton, Fillion, and Matt Gosiewski for the win. With the victory, Wenatchee moved into first in the Interior Division all alone with 46-points, one ahead of Penticton and two in front of Merritt. The Wild travel to Trail Wednesday before returning home to face Vernon Friday and Saturday.

Moses Lake Sweeps Saturday Basketball at Eastmont

Eastmont hosted Moses Lake in a Big 9 showdown Saturday on the NCWLIFE Channel. In the girls game, an early lead for the Wildcats would disappear quickly as the Chiefs built an 11-point lead at halftime and go on for a 23-point win 56-33. Grant Olson had the call right here…


Also Saturday on the Les Schwab Prep Girls Basketball Scoreboard, Sunnyside defended its home court with an 82-49 win over Wenatchee.

In the nightcap Saturday at Eastmont, the Wildcats and Moses Lake Chiefs locked into a back-and-forth classic with neither team able to take charge. It would be turnovers down the stretch for Eastmont that would prove costly as Moses Lake earned the victory 70-to-65. The Chiefs were led by the 30-points from Evan McLean and 20 from Kyle Karstetter. Eastmont’s Isaac Wellborn finished with 20-points while Trey Haberlock chipped in 13.

Also on Saturday, Wenatchee won its second-consecutive Big 9 game by going on the road and downing Sunnyside 54-38.

Eric Berriere set a school record by throwing seven touchdown passes, completing 21-of-30 passes for 352-yards. The 12-and-2 Eagles advance to face 14-and-oh North Dakota State January 5th in the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. North Dakota State is the defending FCS I-AA Champion and has won six of the last seven titles.

San Francisco Edges Seattle in Overtime 26-23

The Seahawks laid an egg in Santa Clara Sunday, falling in overtime to the 49ers 26-23…
Seattle was penalized 14 times for 148-yards in the game, including several crucial penalties that negated big plays on offense. Robbie Gould’s 36-yard field goal in overtime was the game-winner as San Francisco won for only the 4th time this season.
Russell Wilson had a good day, completing 23-of-31 passes for 237-yards and two touchdowns to Doug Baldwin. Chris Carson carried the ball 22-times for 119-yards and a score as Seattle dropped to 8-and-6.
The Seahawks will host Kansas City on Sunday Night Football in Seattle this weekend with a kick off at 5:20. The Hawks can still wrap up a playoff spot with a win.
