Facing elimination, the Bulldog’s sophomore left-hander kept the Kodiaks off-balance striking out 11, and walking only 3.
Cashmere will travel to Ephrata today and await the loser of the District Championship between Okanogan and Chelan. The Bulldogs and Goats play at 5 for the title with the loser facing Cashmere at 7 in a loser-out game.
The Big-9 District play-in games are also today with Wenatchee hosting West Valley at 5 while Eastmont’s on the road at Eisenhower, also at 5 o’clock.
Also, in Central Washington B league play, it’s Waterville-Mansfield at Manson at 4:30.
Eastmont girls golf team wins Big-9
We didn’t get any scores, but learned via social media that the Eastmont girls golf team has won the regular season Big-9 Title…
Eastmont finished first at Moses Lake Country Club yesterday to claim its first title since 2007. Congratulations to the Wildcats!
Coming up today, Chelan, Eastmont, Wenatchee and 20-other teams are competing in the Suncadia Invite. The boys golf tournament will tee off this morning at 9 o’clock.
Soccer semifinals are today
Turning to boys soccer, the playoffs continue today…
Cashmere travels to Bridgeport to take on the Mustangs in the District 6 1A semifinals at 4:30. The other semifinal has Cascade hosting Chelan, also at 4:30.
The District 6 4A semifinals are also today with Wenatchee traveling to Sunnyside. Eastmont plays at West Valley. Both games kick off at 6 o’clock. The winners will play for the District Championship at the high seed’s home field Friday at 6.

As Wenatchee hosts Eastmont this afternoon at Walla Walla Point Park at 4 in the first of a doubleheader. We’ll have the first game on the NCWLIFE Channel tonight at 7 with Joel Norman on the play-by-play.
Also today, Waterville-Mansfield travels to Manson for a single game at 4:30.

Gus is a 3 sport athlete (Cross Country, Swim and Track) earning multiple letters in each sport. He has a 3.918 GPA. In addition to sports he is the Knowledge Bowl President, member of Honor Society, Chamber Choir, and Jazz Choir. Congratulations to Gus Wavra!
