The low-pressure weather system that has been spinning off the coast for the last few days will start to push south into California. This will allow for a minor shortwave trough to push into the region from the northwest this afternoon. Areas north of highway 2 are the most likely to see shower activity. Northcentral Washington weather today calling for partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of a shower or two and mild, with afternoon highs in the lower 50’s.

By Thursday, an upper level ridge of high pressure begins to nose its way into the Northwest and will mark the start of a warming trend for central and eastern Washington. Thursday forecast will be sunny and warmer with highs in the lower to mid-50’s.

On Friday and Saturday, the strong ridge of high pressure will continue to be in place and lead to a quiet weather pattern for the period. Weather for both days will be sunny with light winds and warmer, highs Friday in the mid to upper 50’s and upper 50’s to near 60 degrees on Saturday.

Sunday, another weak trough of low pressure will move in bringing just a chance for an isolated rain shower late in the day with highs in the mid 50’s.

Back to the quiet weather pattern on Monday and Tuesday with mostly sunny skies each day and afternoon high temperatures in the upper 50’s on Monday and mid 50’s on Tuesday.
