Weather this afternoon and evening will be very windy following the passage of a fast moving cold front. Look for relatively light south winds this morning to become westerly and gusty by early this afternoon. Our typical windy spots like Vantage, Waterville and Ritzville can expect sustained west winds of 20 to 25 mph between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with gusts to 45 mph. For Northcentral Washington today, expect sunny skies with northwest wind developing 15-25 mph with possible gusts to 38 mph, high temperatures today in the lower 60’s.
On Saturday, north winds will channel down the Okanogan Valley in the afternoon with 15 to 25 mph in Omak with gusts up to 40 mph. The Wenatchee Valley will see sunny skies to kick off our weekend with northwest wind 10-15 mph and highs in the mid to upper 50’s.
The main weather story heading into Sunday and for the first part of next week will be for much colder temperatures moving into the Inland Northwest. The spread of how cold temperatures could get from Tuesday into Wednesday is high.
All of Northcentral Washington will see sunny skies Sunday through Thursday of next week with afternoon high temperatures only in the mid 40’s to lower 50’s with overnight low temperatures in the upper 20’s to near 30 degrees.
