A potent shortwave weather system will swing through Northcentral Washington today ushering in a dry cold front and windy conditions. Northwest winds will increase across the area late morning and early afternoon hours then ramp up in the late afternoon and early evening with the passage of the cold front. Wind speeds of 15 to 20 mph will common with gusts near 35 mph later today. For Thursday, we will see sunny skies, cooler than normal temperatures and breezy conditions around 10-15 mph.
On Friday and through the weekend, we will see a slow moving low pressure system push into Washington bringing a 20% chance of showers Friday and Friday night, a 30% chance of showers on Saturday and a 20% chance on Sunday. Although our skies will be partly to mostly cloudy through the weekend, temperatures will warm each day with highs on Sunday into the low 80’s.
On Tuesday, a strong area of high pressure will take over our weather picture bringing dry, sunny and hot conditions through next week. Highs on Tuesday will top off around 90 degrees with mid 90’s expected by mid-week next week.
