High pressure is steadily amplifying over Eastern Washington allowing for a continuation of generally clear and sunny weather coupled with a big warming trend. High temperatures will begin in the upper 60’s today and low to mid 70’s tomorrow.
The weather warm spell will reach its peak on Thursday or possibly Friday with high temperatures around 80 degrees. Our normal high temperature for this time of year is 64 degrees. This will have large implications for the snowmelt and potential river flooding. At this point the river forecasts are all fairly well behaved as this is only a minor “heat wave”.
Changes are expected by the weekend as a fairly large area of low pressure will move through bringing a threat of showers and cooler weather on both Saturday and Sunday.
