Washington will close all its state parks and wildlife areas starting Wednesday

Wenatchee Confluence State Park is among the state parks that will be closed Wednesday.

After shutting down its campgrounds over the weekend, the state has now closed all its parks and wildlife areas starting Wednesday.

The closure came in response to Gov. Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order Monday evening in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The closure includes all state-managed parks, wildlife areas and water access areas for at least two weeks.

Entrance gates will be closed and all services suspended. Essential staff will be on site to preserve and protect the sites.

The closure came in an announcement from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
