\WENATCHEE – The Chelan County Sheriff’s office and Wenatchee police responded to a report of a child that had been hit by a car at the intersection of Washington and King Streets in Wenatchee Thursday afternoon. An off-duty paramedic arrived on scene shortly before officers and found the child had sustained major injuries and was unconscious.
The seven year old boy was walking home from school at Columbia Elementary with his sister and some other children when he was struck by a 1993 Oldsmobile Bravada driven by a 39 year old female Wenatchee resident. The boy was transported to Central Washington Hospital and is expected to survive.
Detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses and the driver. At this time, there does not appear to have been a criminal act committed by the driver. Names of the child and driver have not yet been released.
