GEORGE,WA.-There were no serious injuries last night when a charter bus carrying the University of Washington Marching Band crashed on its way to Pullman for today’s Apple Cup game against WSU.
Trooper John Bryant with the Washington State Patrol reports the driver lost control of the bus on an icy stretch of Interstate 90 about seven miles west of George. The vehicle rolled over into a ditch.
The bus was carrying 56 passengers with 39 of them transported to area hospitals as a precaution. The remaining band members were sheltered at George Elementary School for the evening.
