Two people have been arrested for setting a series of fires in the Soap Lake area. Moreover, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said more arrests are expected. Both 21-year-old Alexandra Gray of Ephrata and a 17-year-old man face multiple charges of second-degree arson and second degree burglary.
The Sheriff’s Office said the first fire was April 10th and the most recent was May 28th. At least five unoccupied buildings burned, but that number could be as high as seven. They included old homes and farm structures in rural areas. The sheriff’s office is calling the arsons “crimes of opportunity.” Accordingly, investigators are still searching for suspects in a number of unsolved hay and straw stack fires in the Soap Lake area.
