Chelan County Undersheriff Jason Matthews says the incident occurred near the intersection of South Wenatchee Avenue and the Malaga-Alcoa Highway, south of Boodry Street Sunday night around 10 o’clock.
The two victims were working on their disabled vehicle when they were approached by a lone male subject. According to Matthews, the suspect grabbed one of the victims from behind, placed a knife to their throat and demanded money. After not getting any money, the suspect released the one victim and then struck the other victim in the face with an unknown weapon, possible the knife handle.
The suspect fled on foot and the two victims were treated and released at Central Washington Hospital. Despite a search with a Sheriff Office canine, the suspect is still loose.
He’s described 5-feet, 10-inches, medium to thin build, shoulder length dark hair, 4-to-6-inch long full beard, tattoo on the right side of his neck, wearing a long-sleeve jacket and long pants and looking tattered, possibly from living outdoors.
