As fire investigators continue to comb through the rubble of a house fire in Bridgeport, Sheriff Kevin Morris reports investigators located two bodies inside. Fire crews were dispatched to Old Highland Orchard Road at around 10:00 p.m. Sunday but by the time crew arrived, the house had burned to the ground.
In a press release issued on Tuesday afternoon, Morris said the identity of the deceased could not be positively confirmed until an autopsy, but officials believe the bodies belong to 53-year-old Paul S. Desjardins and his wife 57-year-old Sandra L. Desjardins.
Two residents in the home were able to escape the fire but Douglas County Sheriff Kevin Morris says the way the home was constructed is making it difficult to remove rubble.
Sheriff Morris says the cause and circumstances of the fire are still unknown and under investigation.
