WENATCHEE — Two Chelan County jail inmates allegedly assaulted a third earlier this month, leaving him with a facial fracture.
Police say Joshua James Cornwell, 34, and Rafael Lima, 39, both of Wenatchee, attacked and beat a third inmate May 6 in an assault captured by security cameras in the Chelan County Regional Justice Center. All three were bunked in the same detention area.
Lima, who’s jailed on alleged drug and weapons offenses, reportedly held the victim in a chokehold while Cornwell, who’s charged with drug possession, struck him in the head repeatedly.
Police said none of the three men agreed to speak to detectives investigating the incident. The victim suffered a broken orbital bone around his right eye.
