Chip sealing work will begin Monday on heavily traveled Chumstick Highway, with traffic delays expected on two areas of the highway.
Chelan County Public Works says the road is limited to one lane during the work, with flaggers directing traffic.
Chip sealing will be taking place on both the lower and upper section of the highway.
The speed limit also is reduced to 35 miles per hour in the work zones.
The county is recommended travelers use an alternative route if at all possible.
“After chip sealing, there is loose rock on the roadway. That loose rock is broomed a couple of days after chip sealing, giving the roadway time to cure. So there will be loose rock from about July 6 until around July 9, the county said.
