Town Toyota Center vaccination site transitions from state to local control

WENATCHEE — The mass vaccination site at Town Toyota Center is quieter now than when it started on January 26th. But in that time, the site has administered more than 57,000 COVID-19 shots to the Wenatchee Valley. As of last week, the state Department of Health and National Guard has officially handed over control of the operation to the Chelan-Douglas Health District. It’s now reopened with new hours — Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. — and on-site COVID testing, available Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. We visited with Connor Lockwood, who managed the site for the Department of Health alongside fellow manager Tieka Adeogun, to talk about the transition.
