A tour bus driver was killed in a wreck with a Quincy school bus this morning on White Trail Road.
Several students suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the three-vehicle crash.
All 26 students and the driver of the school bus were taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center where they were reunited with their parents.
The identity of the tour bus driver has not yet been released.
Several of the 39 passengers on the tour bus also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are being treated at the Quincy hospital.
The driver of a third vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
The accident happened shortly after 9 this morning and is still under investigation, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The cause likely won’t be known for several days, the release said.
White Trail road has been shut down while the accident is cleared and investigated.
Foreman said he did not yet know the age range of the students on the school bus.
The sheriff’s office praised area businesses for stepping up to help.
“The Quincy Public Market, Pink Oven Bakery, East Wenatchee Olive Garden and other business and community members have responded with meals for those being sheltered at the hospital in order to make people as comfortable as possible,” the department said.
Quincy Valley Medical Center mobilized a disaster response protocol and had triple staff on hand to treat patients.
