Tiger wins 5th Masters Title

Woods shot a final round 2-under par 70 to finish 13-under, one shot better than three other players, to win his 5th Green Jacket Sunday. He is the second-oldest to ever win the Masters at 43-years old. The oldest being Jack Nicklaus at 46 in 1986. Of course, Tiger continues to chase the Golden Bear in overall major championships. This was Tiger’s 15th while Jack won 18.

Mariners cooled down by red-hot Astros

Houston completed a three-game sweep of Seattle Sunday with a 3-2 victory. The M’s jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the 1st when Mitch Haniger extended Seattle’s Major League record to 18-games to start a season with a home run.

The Seattle bullpen couldn’t hold the lead for starter Marco Gonzales, who went 5-and-a-third, allowing 2-runs on 5-hits with three strikeouts.

The Mariners will try to get back on the winning track with Cleveland coming to town tonight at 7:10 as Trevor Bauer faces Yusei Kikuchi.

Winning the featured races on the night were Jay Evans in the Plumb Perfect Roadrunners; Josh Childress in the Northwest Mini Stock Tour; Dave Garber in the Jerry’s Auto Supply Pro Late Models; and Trayten Tarr in his #91 in the Dick’s Heating and Air Conditioning Thunder Car.

Next up will be the Leonard Evans 150 on April 27th.

Eastmont dropped a doubleheader Friday at Eisenhower 10-3 and 6-5.

On Saturday, Cascade and Cashmere split a twin-bill with the Kodiaks winning the opener 12-1 and the Bulldogs taking the nightcap 13-3. Chelan swept Okanogan 11-1 and 4-1. Manson and Liberty Bell split with the Trojans winning the first game 2-1 and the Lions taking the second 7-1. Waterville-Mansfield at Oroville were postponed.

After winning vie forfeit Friday night over Hanford, the Wenatchee Valley Thunder played overtime against Gonzaga Prep Saturday. The visitors came out on top 7-6 in the extra session. Triston Ploch led the way for Wenatchee with 4-goals.

Tonasket and Chelan split with the Tiger boys winning 5-0 and the Lady Goats coming out on top 4-1. Pateros swept Entiat 4-0 and 3-1. And on Saturday, the Cashmere boys and girls swept Royal both by scores of 5-0.

Then on Thursday, it’s Game 5 of the playoff series between Wenatchee and Cowichan Valley at 7pm. We’re back at Eastmont Friday for more soccer as the cross river rivalry is renewed with Wenatchee at 7.
