Three men accused of trying to steal metal parts from idle Rock Island plant

Three men face burglary charges after sheriff’s deputies allegedly found them inside the former American Silicon plant in Rock Island.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says William C. Brown, 36, Sean David Bossert, 38, and Joseph Adair Jr., 47, were all found inside the factory after tripping a burglar alarm late Saturday night.

They were reportedly carrying burglary tools.

They’re suspected of setting out to steal metal and machine parts from the facility, which has been out of operation since 2003.

Adair is from East Wenatchee; the other two men are Wenatchee residents.
