The weather pattern will be active today with breezy conditions and hot weather before a minor cool down on Friday. The Wenatchee Valley can expect sunny skies today with northwest winds developing by late morning 20-25 mph, high temperatures today in the lower 90’s.
There will also be critical fire weather concerns, with Red Flag Warnings in place for almost all of Northcentral Washington from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Going into Friday, the area will in a drier overall atmosphere, with a nice swath of lower relative humidity values indicated surging across much of the area.
As the weather system moves through, winds will remain marginally breezy and over the lee of the Cascades and deeper Columbia Basin with wind speeds tomorrow between 10-15, highs in the upper 80’s.
Saturday through most of next week, the eastern Pacific high-pressure ridge will begin to rebuild over the region bringing warmer and drier weather to the Pacific Northwest once again. Sunny skies and light wind for Saturday with afternoon high temperatures near 90 degrees.
Further warming is expected on Sunday, under sunny skies, high temperatures are projected to reach the upper 80s to lower 90s. A weak weather system will likely move through the forecast area on Monday, cooling us down slightly with highs in the mid to upper 80’s. By Tuesday and Wednesday, the area of high pressure in the Pacific will flatten and be replaced by a cooler westerly flow. The Wenatchee Valley can expect sunny skies both days with afternoon high temperatures in the lower 80’s.
