Teen killed and three others injured in one-vehicle wreck near Cle Elum


CLE ELUM- A Seattle man is in custody today after a one-vehicle accident near Cle Elum killed a teenager and injured three others Monday afternoon.

Washington State Patrol reports 51-year-old David Cohen of Seattle was traveling east on State Route 970 three miles east of Cle Elum when the SUV he was driving left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and rolled several times coming to rest on its top.

A 13-year-old was dead at the scene and two other 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old were all transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. All of the teens are also from Seattle. Cohen has been charged with one count of vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault. None of the teenagers in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.
