Strong high pressure continues over Northcentral Washington today with mostly sunny weather, a light northwest breeze and afternoon high temperatures in the mid 90’s. Today will also mark the beginning of another dry, warming trend for the Inland Northwest through Saturday.
We will heat up even more on Thursday with sunny skies and highs right at 100 degrees.
Our hottest days will be Friday and Saturday as the strong desert southwest high pressure intensifies. Expect mostly sunny to sunny weather each day with afternoon high temperatures near 105 degrees. Smoke from area wildfires could help shave a few degrees from the highs in some Methow and Okanogan Valley locations but is not expected to bring much relief from the heat through Saturday. The lows are expected to be in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s.
A plume of monsoonal moisture from the south moves our way on Sunday brining mostly cloudy skies, a 20% chance for thunderstorms and cooler with high temperatures in the mid 90’s.
