Statewide drug takeback slated for Saturday

Washington residents can dispose of unused medications throughout the state as part of a federal drug takeback effort this weekend.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration wants to collect prescription and over-the-counter medications so they can’t be lost or misused. Saturday is the official day for the takeback event, but many sites offer drug drop-off services year-round.

In the Wenatchee Valley, those takeback locations are Central Washington Hospital and the Wenatchee Valley Clinic, Washington Valley Pharmacy, Doane’s Valley Pharmacy in Cashmere and Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth.
