Smoke Forces Schedule Changes for Eastmont and Wenatchee Schools

WENATCHEE, WA – (update 9/8/17 at 5:00 a.m.) Add Wenatchee High School to the list of schools that have had their athletic schedules changed due to smoke in the Wenatchee Valley.  Wenatchee’s varsity soccer match with Archbishop Murphy that was scheduled for the Apple Bowl Saturday night has been moved to Everett instead and will start at 6:00 p.m. rather than 7 on the schedule.  There’s still a wait-and-see mode for Friday’s football game at Richland.  A determination will be made by Noon Friday.  If the game cannot be played Friday night, Wenatchee High School Athletic Director Jim Beeson says they’ll try to play the game Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock in Richland.

EAST WENATCHEE, WA – Smoke in the Wenatchee Valley has caused Eastmont to change its sports schedule for the next few days.  Eastmont High School Athletic Director Russ Waterman says the unhealthy air conditions have for the school to postpone its planned soccer games versus Cascade Thursday night and football games versus Walla Walla Friday.

Waterman says the Junior Varsity and Varsity games that were scheduled for Thursday have been moved to Tuesday, September 19th.  In addition, Friday’s Freshman and Varsity football games against Walla Walla have been moved to this Saturday.  “The Varsity game will be a 3:00 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium and Frosh game at noon at Eastmont Junior High.  The Hall of Fame reception will be at 1:00 p.m. in the commons of the high school and recognition at halftime” said Waterman.

NCWLIFE Channel will broadcast the Varsity football game Saturday LIVE beginning with the pre-game at 2:50 p.m. with Grant Olson and Eric Granstrom.  Fans can watch the game streamed live on-line at

NCWLIFE had planned to also broadcast Wenatchee’s soccer match with Archbishop Murphy Saturday night at 7, but now that the game is being played in Everett we will not be able to do so.
