Slush led to first pass advisory this morning but it has since been lifted

Even though it’s still fall, the state issued its first winter pass advisory of the season this morning.

Slush on Stevens Pass led the Washington State Department of Transportation to advise traction tires and prohibit oversized vehicles on the pass.

WSDOT lifted the advisory and restrictions just before noon.

Sherman Pass between Republic and Kettle Falls also received a layer of snow overnight but no advisory was issued for travelers.

Loup Loup Pass near Twisp also had a fresh coat of new snow this morning.
