A large bounder tumbled onto Sleepy Hollow Road outside Wenatchee today, forcing the closure of the road.

The rock came down between East Richards Road and Sleepy Hollow Heights Road, or milepost 1.72 to 1.98 between Wenatchee and Monitor

The county said the roadway will remain closed until Friday, when a contractor will work to break the boulder into smaller pieces that can be removed.

For now, people are being advised to stay away from the area.

It’s the second road closure announced today by Chelan County.

Earlier White River Road near Lake Wenatchee was closed because of avalanche conditions and a snow slide crews are working to clear.
