Sixth person in Grant County dies from COVID-19

Grant County recorded its sixth death from COVID 19 Wednesday, a Moses Lake man in his 90s who died at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

The Grant County Health District also reported 35 new confirmed cases of the virus Wednesday, with two more people requiring hospitalization.

There are currently nine Grant County residents hospitalized with the virus as cases in the county have spiked in the past two weeks.

The 35 new positive tests again came from throughout the county, with reports of positive tests in Ephrata, Mattawa, Moses Lake, Othello, Quincy, Royal City, Soap Lake and Warden.

The district does not have a breakdown of the positive tests, other than by community, saying they are busy tracking new cases lately.

Since June 10, there have been 210 positive tests for the virus reported in Grant County.

The have been 514 positive tests in Grant County since the pandemic began, including Eastern Washington’s first case and death.
