The national media is giving the Seahawks good grades, all A’s and B’s, in last weekend’s NFL Draft…
Seattle went into the draft with just four picks, but traded around and ended up with 11-players selected over seven rounds.
The Hawk’s first-round selection Thursday was defensive end L.J. Collier out of Texas Christian. On Friday, Seattle chose strong safety Marquise Blair from Utah and wide receiver D.K. Metcalf out of Ole Miss in the second round. They went back to Utah in the 3rd round for linebacker Cody Barton.
On Day 3, Seattle picked up wide receiver Gary Jennings in the fourth round from West Virginia; Wake Forest guard Phil Haynes; and Oregon free safety Ugo Amadi.
Husky fans appreciate the Seahawk’s 5th round selection in Washington linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven. Seattle chose Miami running back Travis Homer in the 6th round along with Florida State defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas. Finally, the Hawks picked up their third wide receiver with their last pick in Hawaii’s John Ursua.
The Seahawks are still working on picking up un-drafted free agents while the existing team begins phase two of their off-season workout at the V-Mac in Renton.
