The Seahawks will have the 21st and 29th pick in today’s first round of the NFL Draft. After trading Frank Clark to Kansas City this week, Seattle is definitely in need of help on the defensive line…
In addition, Seattle will be looking to add a cornerback and safety, offensive lineman as well as wide receiver. News about Doug Baldwin needing further surgeries has heightened the possibility of his retirement.
Heading into the Draft, Seattle only has 5-picks. Some experts say there could be more trades from the Seahawks to add more picks.
Seattle traded its second-round pick in this year’s draft to Houston for Duane Brown in 2017. They’ll have the 29th selection in the 3rd round; 22nd pick in round 4; and 21st pick in round 5. The Seahawks traded their 6th round selection to Green Bay for backup quarterback Brett Hundley last year. Seattle also traded away its 7th round pick to Oakland for safety Shalom Luani.
The draft takes place in Nashville on ABC and ESPN at 5 o’clock.
Mariners look to end 3-game losing streak with Texas in Seattle tonight
Felix Hernandez had his best game in recent memory, allowing just one run on 3-hits in 7-innings with 8 strikeouts, but the Mariners fell to San Diego 1-nothing Wednesday afternoon…
The Padres’ Chris Paddack was equally as dominant, allowing 1-hit in 7-innings with 9 strikeouts. The only run of the game came in the second inning on a solo home run off Hernandez by Ian Kinsler.
With his 8 strikeouts, Felix surpassed Don Drysdale on the all-time strikeout list in Major League history with 3,488.
The Mariners will try to snap their 3-game losing streak tonight when they host Texas in the first of a four-game series at T-Mobile Park. Adrian Sampson will take the ball for Texas while Marco Gonzales will go for the Mariners.
