Huskies Stumble in Overtime Loss at Oregon
Washington and Oregon went to overtime to settle their Pac 12 football game Saturday at Autzen Stadium…
After Washington kicked a field goal, the Duck’s C.J. Verdell scored on a 6-yard touchdown run to give Oregon the 30-27 victory. The Huskies had a chance to win it at the end of regulation, but kicker Peyton Henry missed from 37-yards out.
In Ogden, Utah, Weber State shut down the high-powered Eastern Washington offense and had two interceptions in the fourth quarter to beat the Eagles 14-6 Saturday.
In Ellensburg, Reilly Hennessey threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as Central Washington dispatched Western Oregon 48-10.
Wenatchee Wild Celebrate Banner Night
The Wenatchee Wild celebrated its home opener Friday night at the Town Toyota Center with a ring celebration and banner drop for their BCHL Championship a season ago. Afterwards, it was time to play hockey with the Nanaimo Clippers in town. And the visitors were all too eager to knock off the defending champions. The Wild had no time to wallow in pity because they were in Langley the following night to take on the Rivermen and came away with a 3-nothing win.
Scoring goals for Wenatchee were Lucas Sowder, Josh Arnold and AJ Hodges. Wenatchee begins a five-game home stand with Merritt in town Friday and Saturday.
Eastmont Punt Block TD Recovery Downs Grizzlies
Heading back to Friday in prep football, the game featured here on the NCWLIFE Channel was a classic as Eastmont hosted Sunnyside. The Wildcats scored first on a 24-yard field goal by Caelen Massey in the 1st quarter. They made it 10-nothing on Massey’s 56-yard touchdown run.
But back came the Grizzlies as quarterback Derrick Escamilla scored from 17-yards out to cut the lead to 10-7. Following a successful on-side kick, Sunnyside took the lead on Marcus Maldanado’s one yard touchdown run to make it 13-10.
Following Christian Tonga’s fumble recovery at the Grizzly 16-yard line, Eastmont handed to Tonga on a 4-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a 17-13 lead.
Escamilla countered with a 49-yard touchdown run to give Sunnyside the lead back at 19-17. But then Carson Everhart hit Massey on a 33-yard touchdown pass to put Eastmont up 24-19. Following an interception, the Wildcats booted a 28-yard field goal to make it 27-19…and that was just THE FIRST HALF!

Nate Blauman carried 18-times for 190 yards and two touchdowns as Wenatchee bombed Davis 41-nothing to win its 5th straight and improve to 4-and-oh in Big 9 play.
Cascade rushed for 370-yards and edged Chelan 34-28.
Okanogan picked off three passes and rumbled to a 33-7 win over Cashmere.
Lake Roosevelt knocked off Manson 33-7 and Entiat had no trouble with Waterville-Mansfield, winning 68-24.
Volleyball Takes Center Stage on NCWLIFE This Week
Here’s what we have in store for you in sports this week on the NCWLIFE Channel…
It begins tomorrow night at Eastmont when the Wildcats host Eisenhower in Big 9 volleyball at 7 o’clock. Then, it’s the rematch of Eastmont at Wenatchee in volleyball Thursday at 7. And on Friday, Eastmont hosts Eisenhower at 7 with our pregame with Eric and Grant beginning at 6:45.
Baseball’s Championship Series Both Tied at 1-1

Boston rebounded with a 7-5 win in Game 2 last night to tie the American League Championship series at a game apiece. Game 3 is tomorrow in Houston.
Game 3 of the National League Championship series is today at Los Angeles where the Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers are tied at 1-1.
