Gardner Minshew threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Cougars set a school record with 11 wins in a season. Minshew also finished with 4,779 passing yards in a season, breaking the Pac-12 single-season record previously held by California’s Jared Goff.

The Cyclones had a chance to tie the game with 4:02 remaining following a one yard touchdown run by quarterback Josh Purdy. But the Cougar defense rose to the occasion on the ensuing two point attempt, stopping the pass play well short of the goal line.

WSU became the first Pac-12 team to win a bowl game in 366-days after the conference went oh-for following Utah’s win last December.

As the Huskies will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes with a 2 o’clock kickoff in Pasadena.

Washington represents the Pac-12 as its Champion while Ohio State is the Big 10 Champs, finishing the season 12-and-1. The Huskies are 10-and-3 and looking for just its second bowl win under Coach Chris Petersen. It’s also the first time for Washington at the Rose Bowl since the 2009 season.

It will be Ohio State’s Urban Mires last game as head coach, but he has since announced he’ll be staying on as an assistant Athletic Director for the University.

We’ll have live wrestling action Thursday night at 7 as the Wenatchee Panthers host the West Valley Rams.

Then on Friday, it’s the annual Litter Box Games as the Wenatchee Panthers take on the Eastmont Wildcats at the Town Toyota Center. We’ll be LIVE with the unified game at 5, followed by the girl’s game at 6 and the boys thereafter at 7:30. Grant Olson and Eric Granstrom will be courtside with your play-by-play.

We’ll have more LIVE basketball Saturday as Eastmont hosts Davis with the girls at 5:30 and the boys later at 7:30.
